Card In A Box -

This is a new item that I made.  The pictures here are my 2nd time - I had to make a practice run you know.  I am so very excited with how it turned out and how REALLY simple it was to make.  Yeah you heard me simple.  I was worried at first it looked complex, however after some research and few you tubes I found it wasn't complex at all.  The hardest part is figuring out where and what embellishments you are adding.  (also the fun part)  The business card in these pictures will be replaced with a gift card.  I like that they fold and fit in a envelope.  This is my first real nice one I completed I will be making 60 some of these here in the next couple weeks.  My daughter and friends will be helping.  Hope you enjoy and I hope you will try one of these.
This is the Card in a Box - the business card will be a gift card.

Close up of it.  Images and box were cut on my cricut explore air.

Here it is folded ready to go into an envelope.

My Challenge for Today

This is going to be my Challenge for the day.  I already have the pictures picked out.  Just need to set it up and see how it turns out.  How about you try it as well and let me see what you come up with.  I will Post my results soon.

This is my version.  For this page I used Black, Colonial White, and Cashmere cardstock from CTMH, Pattern Paper is Lost&Found record it! paper line, ribbon was just what I had on hand, rhinestones are from CTMH.  Used Cricut to cut out letters.  I really like how it turned out.

SPRING BREAK - 2014

Spring Break here at the Brown house.  I was so very excited for it - dreams of finishing pages, lots and lots of pages was what I was hoping for on Spring Break.  Well my dreams didn't come true but I had a wonderful Spring Break.  My mom came to visit and Charese, Grandma (my mom), and I went to the movie Divergent.  Very good I really liked it.  I will save the talking about that for another day.  What I did do on my Spring Break was spring cleaned the kitchen (what a mess but I got rid of a lot) and spring cleaned my office.  It is still a work in progress but I am getting there.  I will post pictures of the transition.  It won't be complete until into summer I don't think.  Anyway the other thing I did was finish these 2 page layout.  I am so very very happy with it  I just have to share.

First of all I just love the title for this page.  I created it with my Cricut expressions.  I made the heart and paw prints, and the (on, my) lasered out of the heart.  Paw Prints were from Paperpups cartridge, Lettering is done with Jasmine, I forgot where the heart was from.

The background paper is from CTMH For Always paper packet, The lettering is CTMH Champagne cardstock, Heart is CTMH Cranberry cardstock.  The black cardstock is from CTMH as well.  The patterned paper is Lost & Found record it!  Love Love this patterned paper.  I used pastel chalk pencils to do the journaling on the pages.  Love those too.

This is the second page - where I added brads from CTMH too.

My daughter for Christmas wanted a photo shoot with her dog.  So we contacted a friend that is a photographer, Michelle Lockwood Photography, and she did such an awesome job.  I just loved them all.  I have several more layouts to do with pictures from this photo shoot and I can't wait to see how they turn out after doing this layout.   Hope you enjoy them.  Thanks for stopping by.

Seventh Grade Portrait Page

Hello there - I was inspired by a sketch off of the A Cherry On Top Website and whipped this page together this evening.  I really like how it turned out.  I used a paper I found at Crafts Direct and then ordered more from www.acherryontop.com along with some embellishments that went with it.  The paper and embellishments is by Basic Grey.  The paper is RSVP Confetti/svp-4378, embellishments are RSVP-Mixed Brads and RSVP- Flags.  I also used white paper from CTMH, along with some solid color paper from CTMH.  Enjoy!!

Here is the sketch

2014 It's a New Year - What are you doing for the new year?

Hello everyone and happy new year.  I have to say it has been cold here.  The nice thing about that was that I got a couple of severe cold weather days off from my job.  So you bet I headed to the crafting room and started to scrapbook.  Well actually I started to clean and organize my work space.  I am still in the process of organizing but have managed to get some scrapbooking in too.  Here is a page I finished last night.  I am pretty happy with it.  My daughter loved it which made it even better.  I scrap-lifted the basic layout from a page I saw on Pinterest but here is my version.  This is a page for my daughters Gymnastics Level 4 Album.  Which I am hoping to finish today.  Well will have all but one page done today.  Hope you enjoy it and that perhaps it will inspire someone out there.

The top purple paper is a discontinued purple pattern paper from CTMH.  The black flourish paper is by Echo Park Paper Co.; the glitter purple paper is from Best Creation Inc. GCS017 Royal Blue; purple ribbon was an old stash I had lying around; rhinestones were an old stash too; the silver ribbon is from CTMH, and the friends stickers are from CTMH.  The black paper is from CTMH too, and the silver paper is from American Crafts.  This was a lot of fun to do.

JOURNALING; JOURNALING; JOURNALING....

Hello There -

I have to say that this is the year, yep I have set goals to paper, (phone actually) and this is the year I am going to reach them.

I have come up with a plan and bought a task/goal app for my phone and I have to say so far so good.

First of all, I should let you all know that I love scrapbooking, however, I tend to leave all my journaling for later, along with a lot of my titling.  It is just hard for me to stop the creative flow and journal the page.

I have finished many pages of my daughter's 2 year album volume 2 and volume 3but do not have all the journaling done on the pages.  I am so excited to report that over the weekend I finished journaling 28 pages which completed all the journaling in her volume 2 album and left only a two page spread to complete in order to complete the album.  That two page spread is just waiting for some paper to come in and then will be complete.

It was very hard though I have to admit to sit and journal for a whole weekend.  I set the goal though and I am very close to obtaining it.  I have another 20 pages to journal/title to have her two year albums caught up with journaling/titling.  Goal is to have them done by end of April.  If I stay on track like I am so far, I will reach this goal.

Next goal is to journal/title my Mom and Dad's 40th anniversary album in its entirety.  That will be another long weekend or two.

The goal moving forward is to perhaps acknowledge that I don't like to stop my creative flow but to not let the journaling build up.  Perhaps scrapbook like 6 or so pages and then allow time to journal them all before scrapbooking any more or to simply journal as I go.  Not sure how I will move forward but for sure will have to come up with something.

I will be sharing some of the pages once I get the camera back down in my scrapbook room and can get some pictures going.

If you are struggling with the journaling and have come up with some ideas to keep you moving forward please share them.  If you don't have any to share and are struggling I hope my story helps a little.  I do have to remind my self often, slow and steady and you will reach the end.  I wish sometimes it could be fast and steady though.

Thanks and tune again soon for more updates.

Good Night
Tracy

Portrait Page

Wow it has been a while since I have been on here.  With the Spring weather finally approaching and it appears like sticking around I have been getting inspired.  I was on Spring break this last week and while not as energetic has I would have like to be I did manage to get a lot done.  I created this portrait page of my daughter's 6th grade picture.  I am so very happy on how it turned out that I had to snap pictures right away and post on here for you all to see.

I used the Close To My Heart Magic resource book Performance Layout with my own twist on it.  I love this book.  Most of the products are CTMH but there are some from other companies as well.

The green paper is CTMH Citrus Green (which is discontinued bummer), CTMH black, and CTMH stamp set, and the rhinestones are CTMH.

The glitter black paper is AC Duotone Glitter Paper, ribbon from various companies, black stripe paper is from Reminisce; Romance.

This is a simple page and maybe that is why I like it so much.  Hope you enjoy.

Oh I also made a hidden pocket where I slid in her CD which gives me the copyrights to the picture.  The CD is nice because it has the grade and year on it so it also works for journaling.

Gymnastics Level 4 Pages Completed

Well I have been working on finishing my daughter's first year of Gymnastics (last year 2011/2012) scrapbook album.  I managed to finish a few pages.  Here they are.  I have all the rest sorted and paper picked out, so hopefully this book will go together fairly easy and then I can start on this years.

THINK PINK BLOG HOP

This the side front the flap is magnetic
Welcome to the Think Pink Blog Hop! I am so excited to have you join me here at my first ever blog hop. You should have arrived here from Peanutbutter and Jelly Design’s blog. We are doing this Blog Hop to promote Breast Cancer Awareness, and remind all of you to do your self-exams! Our Sponsor is Sarah, at http://pinkcricut.com and she has generously donated a $25 gift certificate for our Grand Blog Candy Prize. If you haven't seen her line of Pink by Design Stamps, you should check her out.

I decided to create something that has been on my to do list for awhile. I created a Memory Keeper box from Close To My Heart. I covered the box with a paper packet (also from CTMH) that was pink with some other colors in it as well. The paper packet is called Life Delights which is an inspiring name, I think. It had butterflies on it that I liked. I stamped additional butterflies using three different butterfly stamp sets; the first Celebrate Life, the second Embrace Life, and the third Spring Possibilities (all three by CTMH) I then cut them out added glitter to them, pink glitter to the two smaller ones and white glitter to the big one. Then I placed the two smaller ones over the butterflies that were on the paper using foam dots to add dimension to the project. I printed the sayings using my computer and glued them on. I also applied rhinestones all over the cover on the swirls. You can open the box and store your keepsakes in it. I plan on storing cards that I have received over the years from loved ones in it.

CENTER PIECES

These are the center pieces I made for my Husbands 40th Surprise Birthday Party.  I did a Duck Hunting there which was very hard to find decorations for so I had to use the creative force.  I think I did a good job.  Also I am posting the Invitations I made and sent out for his party.  Hope you enjoy.

This above picture is on the back wall of our garage - my niece drew it free hand and then she and my daughter helped me paint it and then I finished the painting by adding all the little details etc.  It was a lot of fun and we did it for my husband who really likes it.  Now we feel like we are driving into the hunting blind every day.

I don't have a picture of the invitation yet so I will get that and load it as soon as possible.
Thanks for taking a look.
